Required by IBC and NFPA 101
The International Building Code (IBC) Section 714 and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code require that through-penetration firestop systems at combustible pipe penetrations be tested and listed in accordance with ASTM E814 / UL1479. Products without this listing cannot be legally specified for covered projects in the United States and Canada.

UL1479 listing means representative product samples were physically tested at a UL facility — not self-certified.
