Intumescent Strip Fire Doors Windows

Intumescent Strip for Fire Doors & Windows – HGYY-BW710

A halogen-free, graphite-based flexible intumescent strip engineered for the fireproof sealing of fire doors, windows, and narrow structural gaps. HGYY-BW710 delivers the highest expansion ratio in the FireEG strip range — 27x at test conditions — in a thin profile starting from 1mm, making it suitable for tight rebate installations where thicker strips cannot fit.

Why BW710 for Fire Doors

Highest expansion ratio in the FireEG strip range

At 27x free expansion (tested at 550°C, 30 min on 2mm sample), BW710 delivers more volumetric expansion per millimeter of installed thickness than any other strip in the FireEG range — critical for narrow door rebates where installation space is severely constrained.

Thin profile from 1mm — fits tight rebates

Available from 1mm thickness, BW710 fits door leaf rebates and frame grooves where standard 3–4mm strips cannot be accommodated without modification to the door hardware.

Long continuous rolls reduce on-site waste

Available in rolls up to 25,000mm (for 1–3mm thickness), minimising cut waste and joints during fire door assembly or retrofit installation.

Typical Applications

✓ Fire door leaf rebate sealing (intumescent door seal)
✓ Fire-rated window frame gap sealing
✓ Structural gap and expansion joint sealing
✓ Narrow gap firestopping where space is limited
✓ Smoke and flame barrier in timber and steel door assemblies

【FAQ】

Q: Is HGYY-BW710 self-adhesive?
Self-adhesive backing is available on request for easier
installation in door and window rebates.

Q: What gap width is HGYY-BW710 designed to seal?
The strip is designed for narrow gaps typically found in fire
door assemblies — from hairline gaps up to gaps appropriate
for the installed thickness. For larger penetration gaps,
see our flexible strip HGYZ-AW715.

Q: Does BW710 also provide smoke sealing?
Intumescent graphite strips activate above 180°C to seal against
flame and hot gas. For cold smoke sealing at ambient temperature,
a combined intumescent + brush seal system is typically specified.
Please consult your fire door hardware supplier for the full
assembly specification.

Q: Can this product be tested to EN 1634 or equivalent?
We can provide material samples for inclusion in door assembly
fire tests. Contact us with your test specification requirements.
